Dr David Speers

Dr David Speers is an Infectious Diseases Physician, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, a Clinical Microbiologist, QEII Network at PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA, and a Clinical Associate Professor for the Department of Medicine and Pharmacology, University of WA.  He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, and the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine.  He is a member of the Public Health Laboratory Network and Communicable Diseases Genomics Network of Australia.  He has been a member of a number of state committees and several national committees and working groups for the TGA, the CDNA, CARAlert, AUSMAT and other national working groups. He has been an author for three books and over 80 peer-reviewed publications.  His work has been recognized by receiving the WA Minister for Health’s Lifetime Achievement award in 2023.
