Dr Rosa Coldbeck-Shackley

Dr Rosa Coldbeck-Shackley is an early career researcher working at SA pathology in the Infectious Diseases, Public Health and Epidemiology laboratory. Rosa completed her PhD at the University of Adelaide in 2021. Her research focussed on Flavivirus molecular virology, sexually transmitted viral infection, and innate immunity. Subsequently, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher for Dr Nicholas Eyre at Flinders University in the field of molecular virology, using high-resolution live-cell microscopy to interrogate the Dengue virus lifecycle. More recently she has transitioned into the Pathogen Genomics team under the guidance of Dr Lex Leong. Her current research involves development of whole-genome sequencing methods and bioinformatic analysis pipelines for clinical and public health application.
