Professor Steven Djordjevic

Steven Djordjevic is Distinguished Professor of Infectious Disease and Theme Leader in the Australia Institute for Microbiology & Infection at the University of Technology Sydney. Professor Djordjevic’s research generates and interrogates genomic and proteomics data to mitigate against antimicrobial resistance (AMR), understand pathogen evolution and to identify and characterize novel antigens for vaccine development. He co-founded the Australian Centre for Genomic Epidemiological Microbiology in 2013 and has been at the forefront of exploiting microbial genomics for the surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and pathogen evolution at One Health interfaces.
